The Shine GK Wizard Olympiad aims to encourage students to take active interest in current events around the world and general awareness and knowledge of their surroundings.

SGWO also aims to instill a temperament for quizzing in the students while they are young. General Knowledge and current affairs is also a major component of the syllabi of the majority of the competitive exams in the country.
